Background: Over 90% of the island's inhabitants are fisherman; however, there is a government mandated veda each year, which now lasts for four months of the year. As less and less income can be relied upon for fishing, we are hoping to open up additional streams of income with tourism to Isla de Chira. Isla de Chira already offers so much to visitors; however, with our project work, we aim to address the lack of trust and cooperation amongst the tourist-related organizations, increase the amount of tourism to the island ($$), and enhance the overall tourist/visitor experience. In order to help local business owners expand their opportunities, we created supporting business tools together, such as logos, bilingual menus, marketing plans, work plans, business cards, brochures, and online profiles (e.g. Facebook, TripAdvisor, Google My Business).
Purpose: To provide local entrepreneurs owners with the necessary tools to grow their businesses

Lesson Learned: It is important to develop content and design the supporting business tool alongside the business owner. We ensured they were know how to edit information and content for future editions and printings.
