Background: Each volunteer created a community map with their host family to understand their perspective on important places within Concepciónncepcion de San Rafael.  

Purpose: To draw community landmarks, resources and information sources to understand access, influence and power dynamics

Audience: Organizations, businesses, entreprenuers, students and/or community members individually

Materials:

• Markers

Lesson Learned: Complete this same activity with various community members and groups to gain a complete view of your community. Reinforce that the map doesn't need to be drawn to scale - it is more important to use it as a tool to spark discussion to dive deeper into community wants and needs.

Next Step: Once the community map is complete, the goal is to share it with others. By gaining their insights, perspectives and thoughts, we can understand how we can most effectively positively impact the community with our efforts.
